A: Our embroidery quote is based upon the estimated stitch count and the number of garments or items being embroidered. We give a firm cost of your order in advance after reviewing your design. Additional charges apply for rush orders.
A: We prefer vector art or high-resolution JPG file formats.
A: Digitizing is the process of taking a design and putting it into a format that the embroidery machine can read. It is as much an art as it is a science. Because embroidery designs are only as good as the digitizing of the design, we have in-house digitizing services. We also contract with some of the best digitizers in the business, all of whom are located in the United States, not overseas.
A. There is a charge to make your design ready for embroidery. Charges are based on stitch count and complexity of the design. Digitizing is normally complete in two business days with a photo proof sent directly to you via email. All of our digitizing is done in the United States. Please note that stock embroidery fonts are not the same as word processing fonts. They may be similar, but not an exact match.
A. Yes, your design can be enlarged or reduced. Please e-mail us your design for review. We can enlarge your design up to the maximum area that our machines can sew. Reduction of your design is limited to the point where your embroidered design will hold the required detail. For best results, supply your design when possible at the exact size that it will be reproduced.
A. We can embroider within an area up to 14" wide and 14" tall for one design. Generally, designs for the front of caps are a maximum of 2-3/8" high by 5" wide. Designs on the left or right chest are normally a maximum of 4" tall by 4" wide. These measurements do vary. We will work with you to determine the best size for the garment or product, as well as your design.
A. For best results, we recommend that embroidered text be a minimum of 1/4" in height. The quality of text decreases considerably when less than this height.
A. No. Village Stitch can do large orders or an individual personalization. If purchasing in quantities, please contact us for a quote for any discounts that may apply.
A. If your design requires digitizing we always do a test sew-out. We will provide a photo and email it to you or you may make arrangements to see and approve the sew-out. For stock designs or one that has been sewn-out before, we would only provide a photo if you required it. Digitized designs will require your approval prior to sewing the finished design on a garment or item.
A. Yes, you may. However, please be advised, our embroidery machine is a computerized and mechanical piece of equipment. Mistakes or accidents could happen beyond our control. Therefore, items you provide cannot easily be and will not be replaced. We have better control if we are able to provide the items to be embroidered. You will also be required to sign a waiver if you chose to provide the items.
